It has been said that selling a house can be stressful and time consuming at the best of times, however when you factor in the COVID-19 pandemic and the wide range of restrictions that has come with it, selling in 2020 has brought with it a whole new level of stress.

Peter, our vendor, resided overseas and was selling his mother's property in the Yarra Valley. He needed the guidance and support of someone to help remove the stress and assist him with managing the sale process.

With his mother in aged care and with the threat of impending border closures, it was important that Peter could get the property to market as quickly and professionally as possible so that he could spend his remaining time in Australia with his Mum.

Tower was engaged by Peter to manage the sales process process.

The first stage was to ensure the property was in a condition to be presented to the market so as to  attract the right type of buyers.

The property was cleared, cleaned and staged so it looked its best. We assisted Peter with selecting a trustworthy local real estate agent to market the property and recommended a conveyancer to prepare contracts in time for marketing.

All in all, the turnaround time from when Peter agreed to the quotes for the presentation work,  to getting the property photographed for sale was less than two weeks - a great result when time was of the essence.

The property was being marketed in Stage 3 lock-down, so it was decided to sell by private treaty.  The campaign was very successful and attracted multiple offers within three weeks of being launched. After some negotiations, the agent obtained  an unconditional offer that exceeded Peters price expectations.

Peter was extremely pleased with the overall sale process, as it removed the stress for him and did not take up a lot of his time. This allowed him to spend more quality time with his Mum before he had to fly home.
